More About the Health Policy Consensus Group
The nonpartisan Health Policy Consensus Group, facilitated by the Galen Institute, is a task force of leading policy experts, health care economists and researchers from the major market-oriented think tanks. Since its inception in 1993, the Consensus Group has continued to build the health policy knowledge base by bringing to light fact-based ideas, proposals and the latest available research centered on patient-friendly health care.
The Consensus Group helps to educate policymakers and the public on different approaches to reform by providing a thorough analysis of their benefits and disadvantages. While it does not endorse specific legislative proposals, the group does promote incentive-based reforms it believes will strengthen the U.S. health care market.
The Consensus Group believes that a competitive marketplace is the best way to lower health care costs and give Americans the ability to choose the quality care that best suits their needs. Read the Health Policy Consensus Group's Principles of Consumer-Driven Care.
